Healing the whole of who you are…

Within you exists a range of parts—each with its own voice, purpose, and history. Some protect, some strive, and some carry pain. Our work is to bring understanding to these inner dynamics, not to silence them, but to integrate them. Healing begins when we turn toward the parts of ourselves we have learned to hide, fear, reject, or abandon. Through compassionate shadow work, we discover not what is wrong with us, but what is waiting to be reclaimed. Through this process, we build a foundation for true healing—one that allows you to move forward with clarity and intention, aligned with both the practical goals of your life and the deeper calling of your Soul. Healing begins when we turn toward the parts of ourselves we have learned to hide, fear, reject, or abandon.
Some of my favorite quotes from some of my most inspiring teachers:
“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” – Carl Jung
“Our unresolved issues are blessings, for they are opportunities for healing, awakening, and transformation. The path to wholeness is not found in avoiding the parts of ourselves we dislike, but in bringing them into conscious awareness and learning to relate to them with honesty and compassion.”— Mary R. Hulnick, PhD
“All of us are born with many sub-minds—or parts… the key to health and happiness is to honor, understand, and love every part.” — Richard Schwartz, PhD
“Being able to feel safe with other people is probably the single most important aspect of mental health; trauma robs people of their sense of connection, and the path to healing involves reclaiming the parts of ourselves that have been lost or shut down.” — Bessel van der Kolk, MD
“Radical acceptance rests on letting go of the illusion of control and accepting life as it is. Only then can healing and change begin.” — Marsha Linehan, PhD

About me and my practice of psychotherapy…
Psychotherapy can be an effective tool for providing you with the support and training you need to overcome the challenges you face. By seeking therapy, you are taking responsibility and action to change what no longer works in your life. Many studies have shown throughout the years that psychotherapy is an effective form of treating and managing mental illnesses and other emotional disorders.
As a licensed professional and mental health counselor with over 25 years of combined academic and professional experience, it is my honor to assist you in exploring your core issues and move toward a healthy, fulfilling life both on the “goal line and the Soul line”. Utilizing a variety of approaches including Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Experiential Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Integrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Jungian Therapy, Multicultural Therapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Relational Psychotherapy, Self Psychology, Somatic Therapy, and Transpersonal Therapy, I will work with you to create a treatment plan that is customized to meet your unique circumstances. With over 25 years of experience as a therapist and scholar, I have studied at more than seven universities and completed hundreds of formal hours of education and supervision with leading pioneers in the field, all grounded in a lifelong commitment to learning. This ongoing dedication enables me to provide a well-rounded, integrative approach to counseling and coaching.
Our approach together…
Our work begins with a comprehensive exploration of your internal world by developing a Parts Summary—a detailed understanding of the different parts of your personality, each with its own perspective, history, emotions, beliefs, and intentions. Together, we examine how these parts interact, influence one another, and shape your experience of yourself, your relationships, and your life.
This process is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Jungian Archetypal Psychology, Soul-Centered Psychotherapy, and Depth Psychology, and integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). By bringing awareness to the dynamics operating within your inner system, we create a foundation for meaningful and lasting change.
The first phase of our work focuses on three primary goals:
- Understanding Your Inner System
We identify, define, and explore the parts of your personality and how they influence your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and life choices. We examine not only the role of the ego but also the deeper dimensions of the psyche and Soul. - Cultivating Access to Self
We learn how to access and strengthen the qualities of the Self—Compassion, Clarity, Calm, Confidence, Courage, Creativity, Connectedness, and Curiosity. These qualities become the foundation for healing, insight, and wise decision-making. - Mapping Internal Sequences and Triggers
We carefully examine the sequence of events that occur within your internal system when you are activated, distressed, or triggered. Understanding these patterns allows us to respond consciously rather than react automatically.
As this process unfolds, clients often begin to experience meaningful shifts simply through increased awareness and understanding. The Parts Summary phase is both educational and transformational, helping you recognize how your inner system operates while creating new possibilities for choice, healing, and growth.
Once this foundation has been established, we move into active Parts Work. During this phase, we learn and practice a wide range of experiential skills designed to foster healing and integration. Through guided Inner Counseling processes, we work directly with wounded, protective, and exiled parts of the psyche. We explore unresolved emotional experiences, heal the impact of trauma, challenge limiting beliefs, and release outdated narratives about who we have been taught to be.
As healing deepens, we cultivate greater Self-led leadership throughout your internal system. Rather than being driven by fear, shame, self-criticism, or old survival strategies, you learn to lead your life from a place of wisdom, compassion, courage, acceptance, and authenticity.
Ultimately, this is a deep, dynamic, and highly individualized journey of self-discovery and healing—one that seeks not only symptom relief but also greater wholeness. Together, we explore the relationship between your Parts, your Self, and your Soul, creating the conditions for profound psychological, emotional, and personal transformation.
